Privacy & Community Standards
Last Updated: December 2025
1. Our Commitment to Transparency
At FossilWorks, we believe that self-sufficiency starts with trust. We respect your privacy and aim to be as open about our digital tools as we are about our physical builds. This policy explains how we handle your information across our community channels.
2. How We Use Analytics
We use Metricool to understand how our community interacts with our project logs. This data is used to see which topics—like café design or gardening—are most helpful to you. It does not identify you personally; it helps us provide better guides for everyone.
3. Third-Party Platforms
We share our progress on YouTube, Substack, and Facebook. These services have their own privacy policies. We chose these platforms because they allow us to reach a wide audience of retirees and builders without complex technical overhead.
4. Affiliate Disclosure
In our technical notes, we sometimes link to the tools and hardware we use. If you make a purchase through these links, we may receive a small commission. This helps fund the FossilWorks transition at no additional cost to you.
5. Community Conduct
Our community is a place for learning. We encourage honest questions and respectful discussion. Any conduct that is harmful or disrespectful will result in removal from our social spaces to maintain a safe environment for everyone.
